SA Swallowing Services, PLLC (SASS) is a specialized clinical services provider for transnasal endoscopy to evaluate patients or nursing care residents with dysphagia. SASS uses the Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) protocol and procedure. As a mobile FEES service provider, this instrumental dysphagia assessment procedure is performed in healthcare facilities across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia.  All evaluations are performed on-site and require approximately two hours to complete per patient.  Our SASS associates may see up to four patients/residents per day at a facility.  All patients are administered the same standard swallowing assessment protocol designed to stress the swallowing mechanism to reveal any disorders and their underlying causes. SASS provides all food products for the evaluation.  A final printed report with color pictures, complete findings, and recommendations is given to the facility SLP before leaving the facility.

Entering its 17th year of mobile FEES clinical practice, SASS has performed over 15,000 instrumental oropharyngeal swallowing assessments. SASS clinicians work directly with facility Speech-Language-Swallowing Pathologists and other staff members to assist in determining the safety and efficiency of the swallowing mechanism leading to improved hydration, nutrition, and quality of life.
