Advanced FEES Training is provided by SA Swallowing Services, PLLC, a mobile FEES provider company, and has trained well over 2000 SLPs internationally since 2009.
Developed and designed for FEES-experienced SLPs to provide advanced FEES training in the scoring, analyses, interpretation, and report writing of study results.
Sixteen (16) hours of seat-time instruction for 1.60 ASHA CEUs over two consecutive weekend days.
Five (5) lectures on review of anatomy and physiology of the normal swallow, biomechanics of swallowing and its impairments, scoring FEES observations, analysis of swallowing consequences, incorporating scoring and analyses into report writing.
Five (5) learning exercises, both independent and group with interactive reviews and discussions, beginning with scoring normal/abnormal swallowing events and progressing to include biomechanical reasons for impairment, specific scoring of swallowing peristalsis, and airway protection protection, interpretation, and final report writing. Exercises utilize real-life swallow studies, with each participant using a course-provided laptop computer.
Three-ring binder with all lecture notes, pictures, and forms to keep.
Two (2) light breakfasts and lunches on both days.
Two (2) instructors. Each instructor is an experienced clinical FEES provider and Advanced FEES training instructor and has met all the qualifications and is certified as a FEES instructor by the Tennessee State Board of Health.
Twenty (20) participant-maximum per course.
Discussion and debate are highly encouraged as learning tools.
Tuition Fees of $500.00-Nashville; $565.00-On-site courses (2024)

All cancelations must be in writing, preferably via email.
If you cancel 30 days or more before the course date, full tuition, less credit card processing fees, will be refunded within 30 days following the course completion date.
If you cancel between 11 and 29 days prior to course, 50% tuition will be refunded.
If you cancel 10 days or less prior to course, loss of tuition.
Requests to switch registration to a later course, if received 30 days or more prior to the original registered course, will be made without charge.
Requests to switch courses received less than 30 days prior to the original course date will be subject to a $150.00 reprocessing and scheduling charge.
If SASS cancels a previously advertised and scheduled training course or event, full registration plus credit card processing fees will be reimbursed.
