Intended Audience:
Speech-Language Pathologists working in nursing care units and rehabilitation hospitals in East Tennessee.

Purpose:
To provide a symposium for Speech-Language Pathologists working in nursing care facilities and rehabilitation hospitals in east Tennessee on topics relevant to dysphagia assessment and management in their patient-care populations.
Objectives: At the completion of this conference participants should be able to:
- Contrast signs of reflux from signs/symptoms of dysphagia
• Explain the benefits of flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES)
• Identify the basic components of ethical practice with dysphagia evaluation and treatment.
• Explain the importance of water for normal homeostatic function
• Associate the impact of medications and drug classes on dysphagia
• Explain the pathogenesis of pneumonia

Course Registration and Fee:
- $15.00 per participant.

have special dietary needs. - Participants must pay online using a credit card only. NO checks.
Continuing Education Credit:
This course is offered for a total of 0.55 ASHA CEUs (Advanced Level). Partial Credit is not given.
Cancellation Policy:
All cancelations must be in writing, preferably via email.
If you cancel 30 days or more before the course date, full tuition, less credit card processing fees, will be refunded within 30 days following the course completion date.
If you cancel between 11 and 29 days prior to course, 50% tuition will be refunded.
If you cancel 10 days or less prior to course, loss of tuition.
Requests to switch registration to a later course, if received 30 days or more prior to the original registered course, will be made without charge.
Requests to switch courses received less than 30 days prior to the original course date will be subject to a $150.00 reprocessing and scheduling charge.
If SASS cancels a previously advertised and scheduled training course or even, full registration plus credit card processing fees will be reimbursed.
